OFFICIAL DECLARATION OF INTENTION TO CONTEST THE POSITION OF GENERAL SECRETARY IN THE FORTHCOMING NAIS ELECTION BY ALABA OLUWATOBI AYENOMURO
It is said that “If nothing is done about anything, things will remain the way they are.”
It is with this great enthusiasm that I, ALABA OLUWATOBI AYENOMURO deem it necessary that there is need to challenge the status quo and bring about a responsive and responsible secretariat.
The world is changing, the old way is failing; time and tide have in several associations swept away archaic and old-fashioned methods of documentation and brought in new, more dynamic and sophisticated ones.
I believe NAIS should not be an exception to this progressive change, and it is on this note that I'm presenting myself as a catalyst to help bring about this much-anticipated evolution.
This struggle to rejuvenate the NAIS secretariat into a responsive and responsible one requires competence, capacity, and character.
If it is about competence; it might interest you to know that I'm a content writer and also the CEO of gistablog.com
Through these skills, I have affected my immediate environment in several ways.
If you could remember when flood was ravaging Igbokoda and its environs in October 2019, I wrote an article on the distasteful state of the community which I published on my blog and on Nairaland where it made the first page and was read by over 23,000 people across the country.
These are some of the skills I'm coming to leverage in my quest to give the NAIS secretariat a new face.
If it's about capacity; I have served in diverse capacities and garnered wide range of experience-Served as the General Secretary,NAIS(DELSU CHAPTER-2017/2018 session) and also General Secretary,NAOSS(DELSU CHAPTER-2018/2019 session)
With this, I believe I'm going to succeed by the Special Grace of God if I'm given the privilege to serve this noble association as a General Secretary.
If it's about character; well, I think the best way to know my true character is by reaching out to my colleagues, friends, mentors and of course, my parents and siblings. I'm sure you'll get a fair description of my personality from these sets of people which will throw you into an unending crave for my service.
These three; Competence, Capacity and Character are needed to bring about a New secretariat that will serve the interest of the people effectively.

My vision of a new secretariat is predicated on Digitalization, Responsiveness and Responsibility.
The time for a digitalized secretariat is now. With my expertise as a web developer, I'm going to develop a standard website for the association where everyone can have access to some unclassified documents such as the association's constitution, beneficiary lists, and also pieces of information and events of the association in each chapter. Comment and suggestion box will also be provided on the platform.
Also, documents will no longer remain in paper format alone, they will also be scanned into soft copy and saved in flash drives for easy access and historical purposes.
To achieve all this, I really need your support, prayer, and vote.
Proper documentation is the bedrock of every functioning secretariat. Only a goal-oriented person can help achieve this. I strongly believe I'm one, and unwaveringly, I'm volunteering myself for the task.
Together we can do this.
Together, Let's support ALABA OLUWATOBI AYENOMURO in his strive to bring about:
•A digitalised secretariat
•A secretariat where the association's documents will be properly filed and stored for generations unborn
•A secretariat that is accessible, open to suggestions and constructive criticisms
•A secretariat where the interest of the students matters.
Together let's vote ALABA OLUWATOBI AYENOMURO as the GENERAL SECRETARY of this noble association.
Together we can achieve a Responsive Secretariat!
Thanks for reading.
